Basic Necessities

The Basic Necessities program provides needed items for school-aged children who are homeless. We work directly with the McKinney-Vento Homeless Program through the Green Bay Public School District to identify the changing needs for these children, to provide them with winter items, gift cards, earbuds, school supplies and other identified items.

The Basic Necessities Committee is in charge of gathering the inventory for the next school year. These bargain-shopping Service League women scout for the best deals on clearance items so we can maximize the number of items we provide to the schools. We then go through the long process of taking inventory of the items, to make it easier for the school district to access and distribute them to the individual schools. The Basic Necessities program is just one of the ways Service League quietly enhances the lives of hundreds of local children each year. If you would like to contribute items or submit a cash donation please contact us.

Big Event

Service League of Green Bay has a long-standing partnership with Encompass and the families they serve. We participate in many of their programs including their annual Big Event. In participation of this event, the Service League of Green Bay will sponsor an ‘Adopt a Friend” stuffed animal sale and a book stand to help raise funds for Encompass during this family-friendly event.

Giving Tree

Each year, there are families whom aren’t able to afford Christmas presents for their children. As an organization, we believe in the magic of the season. Our members generously select families to support out of their own personal funds to make Christmas a magical time for many families. We partner with Encompass to select the families whom we’re able to bring Christmas joy to.
